JAMBO!
Fellow travelers (Jambo means “Hi” in Swahili). KARIBU (welcome).
Africa!!
The very name conjures up all the adventure you can imagine. Safari means journey in the Swahili language. On this Kenya safari you will experience the most incredible journey of your life. This wondrous place will warm your heart, shake your soul, and leave you with dreams and memories to last a lifetime.
Option: Visit villages of primitive tribes
Imagine yourself stepping back in time to visit primitive tribes. Dressed in their traditional, colorful clothing and beads, these proud people come out to greet you warmly and welcome you to their village. They demonstrate their dances, show you their children, and invite you to visit their huts and take as many photographs as you’d like. They offer a variety of exquisite hand made jewelry, gourds and other items for sale. The culture represented by these happy people has endured for centuries, and they still live in the way that their ancestors did many years ago, in dung covered huts, raising their cattle and goats. You will have an opportunity to hear first hand while they tell of their traditions, history, and rich culture. Come quickly. Change is coming swiftly and soon you will not have an opportunity to experience these people in their natural environment.
Get up close and personal with predators and prey in their natural environment
Picture yourself whisked away in a safari vehicle to another world where you will experience the stark and beautiful landscape of Maasai Mara, dotted with the famous acacia trees. And visualize the striking semi-arid landscape of Samburu with palm trees along the river bank. See herds of plains animals such as impala, gazelles, elephants, topi, giant eland, zebras, and wildebeest. Have the unique experience of seeing the incredibly beautiful cheetahs stalking their prey, the elusive leopard asleep in
a tree during the warmth of the day, and observe the social interaction between the members of a pride of lions. Be there and witness the circle of life both cruel and gentle, with predators and prey playing out the roles they have played since the beginning of life on earth. Here in Africa is one of the last places on earth where you can see some of the last wild animals and largest mammals in their natural environment. Someday this incredible experience may be gone.
Option: Hot air balloon ride
The early morning mist still lingers as you ascend quietly over the Mara. Here you have an opportunity to see the animals and the landscape from a unique perspective. This never to be forgotten experience includes a bush breakfast and game drive as you return to camp.
Accommodations
Your experiences in the wild will end each day in comfort and style, where you will share exciting stories of your day and be treated to excellent food, delightful deluxe accommodations in 4 and 5-star lodges and luxury tented camps, and impeccable service by warm, friendly staff members.
Itinerary
The itinerary on the following pages briefly describes most of the land details of the tour for a very special customized Kenya safari. With great pleasure, I am inviting you to join me and take advantage of this opportunity to share a great experience. It is a wonderful value, providing top class accommodations and at low cost.
Costs
The land cost of this safari is based on a minimum of 8 safari participants. Costs of $4588 include land costs as well as domestic (within Kenya) air, transfers, park entrance fees, all meals while on safari. Costs are based on current rates (as of July 2005). Costs are subject to change by the vendors and airlines, beyond our control.
Due to the global fuel situation, we will be happy to make your international air arrangements, but this is optional and costs are based on air fares at the time of booking. Feel free to make your own arrangements if you have a particular airline you’d like to use, or if you would like to stop off en route (preferably after the Kenya trip, rather than before). See the itinerary for costs and details of included features. You will be pleasantly surprised.
